Brigid
Farrell
Born Melbourne
1986, Raised in East Bentleigh in a family of 10. Stared cycling at
13 years old, started training at Carnegie Caulfield Cycling Club
where she took very quickly to track racing and in her first season
won various state championships and was selected for the State
team.
With
a silver medal at the national championships, she was inspired
further. She then competed at all State Road Championships – which
she won. Silver at the National road championships.
The next
track season saw Brigid win every Metropolitan, State and National
Championship medal up for offer. After racing for the next twelve
months Brigid decided to focusing on Business.
Looking
forward to competing again, Brigid has decided to race again, but
has said,
“
Competitive cycling comes and goes, It’s not healthy to live and
breathe anything with out a decent brake, to be able to detach and
be ambidextrous, have a solid job and be independent of others,
this I believe is worth more than all the medals I have
won.”
